Trades may close automatically when predefined trading conditions are met or when certain account protections are triggered.
The most common reasons for automatic trade closure include:
Stop Loss Triggered
A Stop Loss order automatically closes a position when the market reaches a specified price level, helping to limit potential losses.
Take Profit Triggered
A Take Profit order automatically closes a position when your target profit level is reached, securing profits without requiring manual intervention.
Margin Stop-Out
If your account's margin level falls below the required threshold, positions may be closed automatically to help prevent the account from falling into a negative balance. This process is known as a margin stop-out.
Market or Instrument Restrictions
Certain products may be subject to trading restrictions, expirations or market closures that can affect open positions.
Corporate Actions
For stock CFDs and certain other instruments, events such as stock splits, mergers, acquisitions, dividends or other corporate actions may impact open positions and, in some cases, result in position adjustments or closures.
You can view the details of any closed trade by reviewing your account history within MetaTrader 5 (MT5). The platform records trade activity, including opening and closing prices, profit and loss, and order-related information.
If you are unsure why a trade was closed, please contact Kudo Support and provide your trading account number and ticket details so our team can investigate further.
